Filid’s Satire

Among the filid, words were never mere words. Through ritual satire, the poet exposes a target’s flaws before both the mortal world and the unseen powers that govern fate. Thereafter fortune seems to abandon the condemned, who finds themselves beset by a string of minor misfortunes and untimely setbacks while bearing the full emotional weight of their dishonour.

Particularly spiteful practitioners of the art may weave Life into the condemnation, causing the target’s failings to manifest physically as warts, boils, blisters, or other unsightly blemishes upon the face.

Effect: The target suffers a run of minor misfortunes and setbacks as fate turns against them. In addition, the curse weighs heavily upon their mind, amplifying feelings of shame, embarrassment, guilt, or dishonour. While unlikely to cause direct harm, these effects may hinder social interactions and complicate everyday tasks. Practitioners who incorporate Life 2 may also cause minor physical blemishes such as warts, boils, blisters, rashes, or similar cosmetic imperfections to appear upon the target.
