Poet’s Invitation

The Aided teach that the dead are never truly gone, merely distant. This rite descends from ancient tales of the filid, who called heroes from their graves to recount forgotten deeds and reveal hidden truths. Unlike other arts, the Aided do not compel the dead; they extend an invitation and wait for an answer.

Performed at crossroads, graveyards, shorelines, or other liminal places, the practitioner leaves a small offering and recites an old poem or song. The call carries across the boundaries of the Otherworld, reaching spirits, ghosts, faeries, and wandering dead alike.

Those who hear may answer. Those who answer may speak.

Effect: Spirit forms the crux of the rote, carrying the practitioner’s call across the boundaries of the Otherworld. Entropy 2 subtly influences fate, increasing the likelihood that spirits, ghosts, faeries, or wandering dead with reason to answer hear the invitation and respond if they are inclined to do so.
